VOIP Telephone Numbers
VOIP stands for 'Voice over Internet Protocol' which in laymens terms means using the speed and power of the Internet to make phone calls. However, it's a bit cleverer than that. You don't actually even have to have an internet connection to use VOIP because VOIP calls can be routed via the web but actually 'point' to traditional land lines or mobiles.
At Hogtronix, we are able to offer VOIP numbers for exclusive use and for short term rental.
Why would somebody want a VOIP number? Traditionally you have had a choice of either a traditional landline telephone number which your service provider (i.e. BT) provides you with or you can use 'masked' non regional numbers like 0845, 0870 etc. Until now, purchasing a masked number has been expensive with costs incurred for purchasing a number and thereafter call costs. At Hogtronix, we can supply a choice of VOIP numbers on either a regional level (i.e. with a pre-fix for your area like '01892' for Tunbridge Wells) or at a non geographical level. You can even purchase numbers from another region to make it look as though you have an office in that area. It's not intended to be in anyway fraudulent but it insteads subliminally says to your clients in your target area that you have some sort of prescence there. It also means their call costs at a local level (to you) will be cheaper.
Hogtronix also offers VOIP numbers for short term rental and these are ideal for marketing campaigns. Lets say you have a magazine or leaflet or online campaign going ahead next week. By publishing a unique telephone number for that campaign, you can track exactly how many calls you've had, at what duration etc. It's a brilliant way of affordably measuring the effectiveness of a marketing campaign and best of all, monthly rental starts at just £7.50 + vat per number (plus any call costs).
Whether you rent or buy a VOIP number from Hogtronix makes no difference in terms of making VOIP calls (i.e. outgoing). You can make calls at a fraction of the price of a traditional land line or mobile phone cost and call clarity is often as good as (in our case, better) than the normal landline telephone. In coming calls can be routed to mobile phones or landlines so you can take your number wherever you are and you don't need any special equipment though some companies, ourselves included, do use VOIP headsets in the office. Out on the road tomorrow? No problem, just have your number repointed to your mobile and you won't miss any calls!
Finally, for those small businesses really wanting state of the art technology - we also offer VOIP integration with web based Client Relationship Management (CRM). Put simple, all in coming and outgoing calls will show inside your CRM, against a clients name if they are added into your contacts. This is an excellent way of keeping track of conversations and contact with your clients as well as measuring time you've spent talking with each client (as you can log in and view actual call durations, and even record your calls through our recommended CRM solution!)
