- How do I set up email on my computer?
You will need four pieces of information to set up your email.
1. Username (Example: john+johnsmith.com)
2. Password (Be careful that you enter the characters exactly how they are supplied to you, as this is often case sensitive)
3. Server Address ( Example: mail.johnsmith.com)
4. Check the 'My Server Requires Authentication' box. (This is essential for your email to work, and can be easily missed when setting up accounts on email clients)
It varies between different email clients (email software) but typically for Microsoft Outlook, you set up email accounts through 'Tools' on the menu bar. You will then need to open the 'Accounts' menu, and follow the setup system with the 'Add' feature.
- Can I create additional email addresses?
You can access your email accounts via your own cpanel. Your cpanel is your server control panel for your website. (your-domain.com/cpanel)
We supply all cpanel login details to clients on completion of a site, but if you need us to send them to you again, contact us support@hogtronix.com.
'Email Accounts' (found under the 'Mail' section) is where you can add new accounts and select/edit Mailbox space quota's for each email account.
- How can I access my webmail from a different computer?
Your webmail is your normal email login on the server (where messages get sent before they are downloaded to an email program on your computer)
To view your webmail, you can simply log in using the Hogtronix website homepage, under the 'Click here to log into your webmail'
and enter your email address and password.
You will also need to select which server your website is stored on. If you are unsure which server to select, please contact us at support@hogtronix.com.
You are presented with a choice of webmail clients(software), we recommend 'Horde' as a clean and simple to use webmail system.
- How do I use my Content Management System?
You can log in to your CMS through the Hogtronix website, under ‘design’ on our homepage. (Make sure you enter the correct log in details we provided you with, to ensure successful entry to the CMS software)

- How do I upload new website files from my computer?
You will need to set up File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
There are a variety of free FTP clients (software which enables you to transfer files to the internet), we recommend ‘Core FTP’.
We supply all FTP details to clients on completion of a site, but if you need us to send them to you again, contact us support@hogtronix.com.
- How can I avoid spam to my email?
We have an assortment of solutions to deal with SPAM, all depending on SPAM intensity and clients requirements.
These range from encrypted email accounts to CAPTCHA Systems.
You can help minimize spam by having local spam filter. We recommend Spambully.
It is best to avoid publicising your email address on the internet, as this can lead to harvesting of your information by internet robots.

- How can I access my statistics for my website?
You can see all of your site statistics using the Logs options on your cpanel. Your cpanel is your server control panel for your website. (your-domain/cpanel)

Please use 'Awstats' (found under the 'Logs' section). Here you can find a full listing of information of your website statistics, ranging from individual pages hits to the amounts of site visitors.
- How do I get my website to the top of search engines, like Google?
There are a number of ways you can do this. Hogtronix are specialists in optimisation of websites.

- I’ve had a bandwidth quota warning message, what do I do?
It is probable that we already know you have received this message, but it would be wise to contact us at support@hogtronix.com so we can ensure we have taken appropriate action.
Generally speaking, receiving this message is not all bad news, as it means your website is receiving plenty of attention.
- How do I set up an auto-responder message for my email?
You can create an auto-responder for your email address, using an easy-to-use function found in your cpanel. Your cpanel is your server control panel for your website. (your-domain.com/cpanel)

'Auto Responders' (found under the 'Mail' section) is where you can add, edit and compose the auto-responder emails.
You will need to enter the email address that the auto-responder will be applied to, an email subject, appropriate body text and click 'Create/Modify' to finish the setup.
We recommend that you send a test message to the email address with the auto-responder, to ensure the message appears exactly how you want it.
- How do I add an email signature?
