Website Security Packs from HogtronixPosted in:
Web Design
SPAM is the curse of the Internet. For all the wonderful things the Web allows us to do, the thing that continues to spoil it for many is the sheer ammount of rubbish sent as SPAM, particulary via websites (inside forms) and via 'harvested' email addresses by SPAMbots.
Hogtronix have been addressing this in a special project since July of this year and can now offer all clients of Hogtronix a Website Security Pack for just £99 + vat. The 'Pack' will include the installation and one-off cost of installing a 'CAPTCHA' throughout your website (maximum of 4 forms) so spammers will only be able to manually ehter SPAM messages via your forms instead of using SPAMbots. This will deter most as this is time consuming and the CAPTCHA image changes on every screen refresh. What is a CAPTCHA? It's an image of 4 or 5 letters and/or numbers which needs entering exactly as they are presented in a contact form. If they aren't entered exactly (and they change every time the screen is refreshed), the form doesn't get sent, and the recipient doesn't receive the mail. If Spammers use the forms through automated means, the robots they use to automate the process won't be able to read the 'CAPTCHA' code. Genius. Also included in the cost is the encyption of your email address anyway within the website code wherever it is mentioned. SPAMbots harvest email addresses from website code so by encrypting them so they still look and work as normal to us 'humans' but presenting them in Gobbledy Gook to the Spammers. We're working on additional anti-SPAM measures as we speak as well, and these latest services are in addition to the Spam Assasin software we already deploy on each of our client websites. |
